Ben Gutenberg was a freshman at The College of William and Mary when he passed away on November 27, 2007, at age 18. This site has been established to carry on his memory. Please click on "Biography" to learn more about him.
March 6, 2025, was Ben's 36th birthday.
In October 2024, the Rochester Fencing Club hosted the Ben Gutenberg Memorial SYC, a regional youth fencing tournament dedicated to Ben's memory. It was held at Nazareth University in Rochester, NY. Almost one thousand fencers attended, mainly from the Northeast and Canada, but others from all over the country. This turnout - twice the previous year's - attests to the quality of the event, and some consider it to be the best youth tournament in the East. Thanks to Felicia Zimmerman for her leadership, and to the numerous volunteers, some of whom come back year after year to help out.
The Conomikes Gutenberg Memorial Open Fencing Tournament was held at The College of William and Mary on February 22 & 23, 2025.
